Music Tonight: Chris Hernandez and the Skatronauts

The Billy Bishop/Kerrisdale Legion is pleased to welcome Christopher Hernandez and the Skatronauts!

Christopher Hernandez and The Skatronauts play a mix of classic rock, blues, reggae and ska covers, as well as some original instrumental songs written by Christopher.

After releasing two albums and with a few gigs at the door, Christopher Hernandez (guitar, voice and trumpet) together with Hugo Rica (Voice and drums) created The Skatronauts, later to be joined by Jules Dömm (Bass) and Jairo Cuadrado (Guitar). All members being from Latin America and having played on several bands, are heavily influenced by classic rock from the 70s onwards, both in Spanish and English, songs from the Eagles to Radiohead and more. Aside from the classics, Christopher’s original music also keeps its roots on those genres, with a twist, being instrumental guitar-led songs that defy the genres’ boundaries to tell stories to its listeners.
