Celebration of Life for Legacy Past President Don Smythe Upstairs Lounge

It is with regret we announce the passing of legacy Branch 176 past president Don Smythe (2001 – 2004).

All who knew Don are welcome at his Celebration of Life.

Don was a very proud Life Member of the Legion, supporting not only the Billy Bishop but also the Kerrisdale Branch for many years. He served on the Legacy 176 Branch Executive for a decade, holding a number of positions, including Branch President for three years. The words kind, fair, considerate, hard working & class act have all been used to describe Don. These qualities made him an excellent Branch President and in turn the Branch flourished under his guidance. In fact one of our most popular events – the Sunday Meat Draw – was introduced under his tenure as president.

Even after stepping off the Branch Executive in 2004 Don and his wife Joan continued to support the Billy by helping out whenever it was needed and continued until health issues took their toll. Our sincere condolences to Don’s family and may he Rest in Peace. Rest well, dear Don.
